Introducing A Tooth Brush To Your Child

Once our child starts growing baby teeth, it is very important to start cleaning there teeny weeny little teeth. Teeth start sprouting after 7-8 months and at that time the best way is to just wipe them with a plain soft cloth or cloth wire mesh every morning after they wake up and at night. Also this is the time kids usually start getting tooth decays. This is usually coz most kids are still breast fed at that time and some researchers say breast milk is sweet. So the best thing to do whether your child is bottle fed or breast fed is to give them a some water to drink once they drink milk.

Once our child is 1 or 2 years, you can start introducing them to a brush. Buy them a good colorful one. We get a lot of different kinds in the department store near your house. The first brush i bought for my child is a bright red one and you guessed, its a Winnie the Pooh brush. Then every morning after he wakes up, I sent him stratight to the toilet with his brush and a drop size amount of paste. The first few weeks were hell, with him crying to have milk straight from bed but it was a ritual that had to be done:-).

Now my son is 2 years old and the first thing he asks after he wakes up, is his brush. A good accomplishment right.

Easy Steps To Eliminate Stomach Pains in Children

Kids ever so offen have stomach upset and complain about stomach pains.
We never know what the problem is. It may be just some formation of gas or even a mild case of diarrea. My solution for all this is lemon juice with ginger. No kidding. Here the recipe below. Try it out and see how little our kids will complain about stomach pain after this.

Recipe:
-Juice of 2 lemon. -4 cups of water. -1 cup of sugar. Put all the above in a pitcher and in it put atleast 4-5 pices of sliced ginger.
And thats it.You can store it in the fridge in a bottle and give your child a drink occasionaly.

Another good drink for children is camomile water.

Dinner Time

Dinner time should be just like lunch time. Give them a balanced and healthy diet and top it over with a little bit of ice cream or so.

Before bed time always give them a glass of milk with honey. You can also them a soothing hot chocolate milk or some malted drink. My son is not that good when it comes to drinking milk at night. Neverthless I always make it a point to give him his milk in his Winnie the Pooh glass. Well, I'm hoping one dayhe just geys used to it and starts drinking the milk. I will let you know if my trick is working.

Desserts For Your Child

Eating for a child should not be all healthy and good. And occasional treat is a good thing and should be given.

An occasional chocolate should be given so that our children dont get the craving for these items. Other sweet items that I give my child is the tea cakes which he just he just loves. I always have a batch of freshly baked cup cakes. And then there is the cookies and buscuit which children just love.

Lunch Time

The other day my son was in no way to eat a good healthy nourishing lunch. What he wanted was a pack of salted potato chips. Well I was not ready to give into his demands. I baked some potatoes in olive oil, added a dash of salt and bit of parsely. And some boiled peas, and 3-4 peices of chicken without the bones. I kept it in front of him in a plate and sat him on our table. He cryed for a while but when he saw that i didnt mind his crying he slowly started munching on the potatoes I baked instead of his potatoechips. What a great achievement for me. WOW

Any moms with a determination to give healthy food can do wonders. Our child should know that there are no choices(his choices) when it comes to food. Its either eat the food that is in front of him or no food at all. It does sound a little harsh but i'm telling you 2-3 times of this and they will eat anything you serve. Go on try it and do tell me about your experience.

Eating Disciplines

Some Easy Ways to Eating Breakfast for Your Toddler

1. Always instill in their minds that their is a breakfast time, a lunch time and dinner time.

2. Once they are up in the morning which should be no later than 8 in the morning let them brush their teeth,go for potty.

3. Then give them a good bowl of cereal with milk and top it of with a glass of fresh juice.

4. For some kids eating a bowl of plain cereals can be a demanding task,so make it fun by cutting some pieces of banana or strawberries or if that doesn't help some cut pieces of chocolate chip cookies.

5. Instead of plain juice we can always mix 2 kinds of juices together to give a more lively taste and more nutritions. Best example is orange and carrot juice. Lovely combination and kids will never know the difference.

Toddler Parenting

One of the worries for new parents are how to discipline and care for their kids in the right way.

Here are some easy and fun tips to know if you are a new parent:

For Toddlers (Age1 -3)

1. When they are 1 years is the right time to start a slow disciplining of our child.
2. They should have a clear idea that you are the boss.
3. But this does not mean that you have to shout and scream at them.
4. Do not give into their crying demands. Just ignore them for a while and they will understand that crying will not change your decisions.
